 ***NEW PRODUCER ANNOUNCEMENT*** Welcome to the famiglia La Chiara! We are thrilled to add La Chiara’s Gavi di Gavi DOCG wines and Derthona Timorasso to the portfolio. Dario Bergaglio’s family, in the town of Gavi in Piedmont, played a key role in the birth and the success of Gavi, and has been producing this great white wine in Piedmont for three generations. We had fallen in love with La Chiara’s crisp, clean & dry white wine Gavi del Commune di Gavi, but during our Zoom meeting with Bergaglio we discovered his Black Label Gavi, which is aged for 10 months after fermentation in stainless steel tanks, giving a richer and more elegant full-bodied wine, yet still retaining its Gavi-esque style! DELIZIOSO! Bergaglio also introduced us to his up-and-coming Derthona Timorasso, which was a wine we became intrigued with after our most recent visit to Piemonte…this interesting white is still relatively unknown but preparing for its delicious moment! Printed right on their label, the Bergaglio’s family philosophy reflects their commitment to the 100% Cortese Gavi del Commune di Gavi wines “Proud Guardians of our Tradition”. These truly complex and remarkable Gavi wines are in the tradition of Piedmonte’s finest expression of Cortese produced wines. We cannot wait to introduce the Colorado market to La Chaira!
