family style

 The Deltetto family...We had only ever met them via zoom but we already felt like friends. But when siblings Carlo, Cristina & Claudia and parents Toni & Graziella graciously welcomed to us to their winery and adjacent home in Roero, they treated us like famiglia. Walking the vineyards & cellars with Carlo, sampling new vintage Barbera d'Alba straight out of the barrel and learning more about their winemaking style and philosophy was fascinating, making us even more excited about the wines that we already love to import into Colorado. But the most special element of the day was joining the close-knit family in the tasting room for an authentic Piemontese pranzo prepared by matriarch Graziella. Toni popped a pre-corked bottle of his [and our] beloved Metodo Classico Alta Langa bubbly, our daughter was entertained by Cristina's adorable children and we were lucky enough to also dine with the incredibly artistic Claudia and her soon to be husband. It was a true family affair and we were grateful to be a part of it.
