Armilla is a small family winery on the south-western side of Montalcino, started in the early 1980s. Here Sangiovese grows in light, wind and ancient soils, becoming Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Armilla’s vineyards lie on Montalcino’s south-western slope, between 320 and 350 meters above sea level. Afternoon sun exposure, steady winds and galestro-rich soils shape deep, savory wines with slow, complete ripening. Work in the vineyard is almost entirely manual: measured pruning, low yields, no superfluous interventions. Brunello di Montalcino--Parcel selection, long macerations and ageing in large oak casks. A deep, elegant Brunello, crafted for time. Rosso di Montalcino--The most immediate face of Armilla’s Sangiovese: juicy, taut, with a freshness that invites the next sip. Made for the everyday table.
